Adult chiropractic technique scaled down doesn't work for kids. Pediatric specialists adapt force, position, technique, and pace to the developing nervous system — newborn through teen.
Dr. O'Brien is INSiGHT pediatric-trained and adjusts kids on the same protocols used by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Our youngest scan-and-adjust patients are days old. Our oldest pediatric patients are heading off to college.

Forty-five minutes, calibrated for kids.
Every step is age-adjusted. We move slow, narrate everything, and the parent stays in the room (or on the table next to baby) every visit.

Parent intake
Birth story, milestones, sleep patterns, feeding, sensory things you've noticed. We talk to the parent first, child second. Pediatrician notes welcome.

INSiGHT pediatric scan
Three non-invasive nervous-system scans, all safe for the youngest patients. We adapt sensor placement to the child's size and comfort.

Age-appropriate exam
Posture, range of motion, primitive reflexes for infants, gait and asymmetry for older kids. Hands-on, never rushed, parent always in the room.

First gentle adjustment
If the assessment surfaces something we can correct, the adjustment is included in the $150. Pressure used for an infant is roughly the pressure used to test a tomato for ripeness. For teens, scaled appropriately.

Pediatric chiropractic is one of the most-researched, lowest-risk forms of bodywork available for kids. Here's what we actually do — and don't do.
- Newborn pressure — roughly the pressure used to test fruit ripeness. Never anything close to adult force.
- Parent in the room, every visit. Babies often nurse during their adjustment. We work around real life.
- INSiGHT scans — non-invasive, no radiation, safe from days-old up.
- Position-specific — infants on a pillow, kids on the table or in a parent's lap, teens on the standard table.
- Pediatrician coordination — happy to share notes with your child's primary doctor on request.

What pediatric chiropractic actually treats
Why parents bring their kids in.
The big four for infants: colic, reflux, sleep regulation, and latching difficulty. Most parents notice changes within two to three visits.
For toddlers and school-age kids: ear infections, sensory regulation, ADHD support, growing pains, and recurring illness patterns. We don't claim to ‘cure’ any of these — we work with the nervous system, and the body often does the rest.
For teens: posture, sports performance, headaches, and the back and neck pain that comes from 8+ hours a day on phones and laptops.
We coordinate with pediatricians, occupational therapists, and pediatric specialists when helpful. Chiropractic isn't a replacement for medical care — it's a complement.

How young is too young?
There's no minimum age. We've adjusted infants who were just days old. Newborn protocols use roughly the pressure of testing a peach for ripeness — it's less force than a parent uses on bath time.
Will my kid be scared?
We design every visit to feel like a doctor visit run by their favorite teacher. Toys in the front, slow pacing in the back, parent in the room, narration the whole way. Most kids are excited to come back.
Is it safe for kids with chronic conditions?
Usually yes. We review your child's full history in the consult and coordinate with your pediatrician for anything that warrants extra care. We never adjust through a contraindication.
How often will my child come?
Depends on what we find. Most pediatric care plans run 8–24 visits in the corrective phase, then maintenance. We re-scan at the end of each phase so you can see what changed.
Do you take my pediatrician's notes?
Absolutely. Bring them to the first visit or have them faxed/emailed ahead. We integrate medical context into our care plan.
Can siblings come at the same time?
Yes. Family pricing is available, and many families do back-to-back appointments to make a single drive efficient.
